Specific Details In the matter of access to Psychiatry of Later Life services from the HSE at a care home owned by CareChoice Swords Ltd. in Swords, Co. Dublin, CareChoice wrote to the Minister for State in the Department of Health noting that psychiatry services have not been provided by the HSE to the care home since it opened in 2019 and this impacts on new and existing residents, many of whom cannot afford private psychiatry services and as such puts CareChoice Swords Ltd. at a competitive disadvantage.

Letter sent to CHO Dublin North City & County by email on 25 May 2022 and a follow up email was sent on 31 May 2022 in response to a letter received from the HSE. A further email was sent to the Private Secretary to Minister Mary Butler on 11 August 2022 following the official opening of the CareChoice care home in Swords which was attended by Minister Butler.
