Ulster Banking Exit from the Market
Intended results
To extablish what action the Government is taking to assist farmers on the exit of Ulster Bank diminishes the level of competition within the Agri Finance market. It's a concern that the already high Cost of Credit that Irish farmers have to contend with will only get worse.
If farmers cant get access to low cost finance it will constrain the ability of the sector to make the required investment to support the transition to net zero by 2050.
To establish if there are any plans to replacing Future Growth Loan Scheme to support increased investment in improving on-farm efficiencies for food production, irrespective of what might otherwise come from SBCI or others in terms of possible.
