Intended results Ireland could and should using more biofuels in transport under its climate programmes. We use only a fifth of the amount of crop biofuels as the EU on average and this is holding us back. Ireland is wholly dependent on imported used cooking oil for its transport policy and this is unsustainable due to lack of supply of cooking oil and due to fraud in the sector, with virgin palm oil illicitly entering the supply chain. We seek balance and quality.
