Misean Cara members, in partnership with Irish Aid, are standing in solidarity with communities in desperate need across the Global South. They are helping to protect their communities: sewing masks, setting up hand-washing points, buying Personal Protective Equipment and distributing food parcels along with medication to those in need -- as well as striving to sustain basic services (in education, water, sanitation and other areas of health), livelihoods and human rights through the current crisis.
An ongoing, global response is needed. Misean Cara will (in partnership with Irish Aid) develop our portfolio of projects that delivers transformative change through education, health care, livelihoods, emergency and human rights work across Africa, Asia, the Middle East, Latin America and the Caribbean – as a unique expression of Ireland’s reach, shared humanity, and solidarity in the world.

I am writing to bring to your attention the Budget 2021 submission that Misean Cara - Mission Support from Ireland has just submitted to Government through the office of the Minister for Finance. We are asking hat the Government sustain Ireland's investment in ODA (required by poor and fragile countries more than ever in light of COVID19) in keeping with the Programme for Government commitment and in support of Ireland's strategic foreign and development cooperation policies.
Doing so will support the internationally agreed SDGs framework, which Ireland did so much to help establish, aimed at supporting people, planet and peace - and ensuring the kind of peaceful, equal and sustainable world in which Ireland, and other nations, can thrive. e look forward to your continued support for the Global Goals, Ireland's internationally-recognised development cooperation programme, and missionary organisations who deliver transformative change (in partnership with Irish Aid and others).
