Intended results
That there would be greater market transparency at all levels in the food chain, so that margins and profitability of processors and retailers are clearly visible.
To put on the record that this move by the Commission is welcomed and must be implemented in Member States
That the role of a food sector Regulator, appointed under the EU Directive on UTPs would be expanded to provide the European Commission with the mandatory price reporting required to comply with the transparency legislation.
