Specific Details
Business position on Brexit phase 1 negotiations, Europe's role as a global trade and investment player and how the EU can seize the opportunities of digitalisation and fosters completion of the digital single market (DSM)
Intended results
Secure commitment to pursue a transitional deal for the EU-UK relationship with the UK remaining in the single market and customs union, with all the appropriate rights and obligations, for the duration of the transition period.
Ensure commitment of both negotiating parties to conclude phase 1 of the negotiations and proceed to phase two.
Ensure commitment to promote trust and confidence in the digital economy. The data economy can improve conditions for citizens, in a diverse range of areas, and EU legislation should remove unjustified restrictions to the free flow of data.
Secure commitment to agree taxation proposals at international level through the OECD.
Ensure commitment to support an EU that remains open and attractive for foreign direct investment. Ireland is a unique example of what can be achieved through openness and a business model based on what the OECD describe as substance. We are making a lead contribution to the EUs economic recovery.
