Specific Details Launch of the RDS report entitled "A Profile of Ireland's Elite Traditionally Bred Mares"

Intended results This pedigree project identifies performance bloodlines in the current mare population and will provide some segregation in terms of identifying both show jumping and eventing pedigrees, which is also called for in the recently launched strategy ‘Reaching New Heights’. It will identify and inform the owners of high genetic merit mares as well as informing those with poorer stock, enabling them to make their future breeding decisions based on scientific best practice and economic reality.
