Specific Details Business priorities for Dublin and the Mid-East for the National Planning Framework.

Intended results To ensure understanding of TDs in the Dublin and the Mid-East (Wicklow and Kildare) areas on the priorities of business for Ireland's development both economically and socially. To ensure understanding of TDs in the Mid-East of the potential ambitious investment policies and infrastructure projects that should be pursued in this era of low borrowing costs. To ensure understanding of the infrastructure requirements of Dublin and the Mid-East, including: the Metro North; a second runway at Dublin Airport; expansion of Dublin Port; housing and any appropriate enabling infrastructure; intermodal public transport initiatives such as Bus Rapid Transit; and a review on restrictions on building height and density in our cities. To ensure understanding of Dublin and Mid-East TDs of longer term infrastructure requirements such as a high-speed rail link from Dublin to Belfast; enhanced rail freight facilities; enhanced water supplies for the capital region; and Dart Underground.
