Specific Details Pre budget meetings with a number of public representatives to highlight the importance of the thoroughbred industry and ensure we were given a sustainable level of funding in the budget. In addition we outlined the urgent need for an increase in the Betting Duty from 1% to 2/2.5%

Intended results No reduction in the allocation of funds under the Horse and Greyhound Fund from budget 2017. A commitment from all parties to look at increasing the betting duty in the coming year.

A meeting with the Minister for Agriculture on 6th October

Meeting (2-5)

Meetings with three members of the Joint Agriculture Committee on 26th October to brief them on the importance of the industry and the benefits of increasing the betting tax.
