Meeting (1)
On the 22nd of November Catrina Sheridan, CEO of Sightsavers (Ireland) met with Minister Joe McHugh, of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT), and on the 30th of November Catrina briefly met with Minister Finian McGrath of the Department of Health. The objective of these meetings was to encourage the Irish Government to ratify the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (UNCRPD), which Sightsavers would see as an important first step towards making progress on the Disability Inclusive Development agenda.

On the 22nd of November Catrina Sheridan, CEO of Sightsavers (Ireland) met with Minister Joe McHugh, of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT). The subject matter of this meeting was the issue of increasing Ireland's overseas development aid budget through additional aid funding mechanism (such as matched funding) to address the issue of increasing Ireland's overseas aid budget so as to reach the UN target of 0.7% of GDP.
