Specific Details Attended the Child Poverty Summit and gave a case study entitled ‘Why is a holistic approach needed to address ongoing income and employment barriers for lone parents, and how best can this be achieved?’

Intended results To inform delegates of the multiple and intersectional barriers that impact lone parents from accessing paid employment and/or further and higher education. To outline an aware winning education bridging programme called 'New Futures', developed by One Family and piloted through the Dept of Social Protection and to seek advice on how to get this programme mainstreamed and rolled out nationwide.

Invited to present a case study at the first Child Poverty Summit at Dublin Castle hosted by the Department of the Taoiseach and the Child Poverty and Wellbeing Office. While there were no DPOs at our case study presentation, we understand that all presentation ideas would be reported back to the Dept.
