Email (1)
The IACP wrote to Minister Foley expressing support for the Counselling in Schools pilot and requested a meeting to assist the department in the creation of the pilot.

The IACP participated in a round table discussion organised by the Joint Committee on Education, Further and Higher Education Research Innovation and Science as part of the Committee’s examination of Mental Health Supports in Schools and Tertiary Education. We followed up with an email to Minister Foley and the committee members, and others with our submissions and opening statement. We also offered to meet with the department and committee members to share our expertise and assistance during the formation of the pilot.

On the 5th October 2022, following the news of the counselling pilot project for primary schools, Lisa Molloy, chief executive officer of the IACP briefly met Minister for Education Norma Foley at the launch of the DRCC annual report. Ms Molloy voiced her support for the pilot and offered the IACP’s expertise and assistance to the department to help develop the programme.
