The proposal is to introduce into the programme a complementary ‘Trees for bees’ scheme that addresses the omission and supports viable, sustainable apiculture enterprises that bring supplementary incomes to many rural communities. 2. The Minister is requested to set up a task force of interested parties to work cooperatively with heritage, scientific and economic interests to find the best solution for Ireland and Europe. It is critical that this bill is made law during this government’s term of office. 3. It is proposed that landowners who damage the environment should lose their farm payments and undertake redress before they are accepted back into the Farm Payments Programme.
