Specific Details E mail communication and submission, following up on a previous meeting request to discuss the role of lower carbon and renewable gas solutions in meeting the EU's 'Fit for 55' climate objectives. Furthermore, the communication highlighted the potential impact of the ETD policy proposal on rural energy consumers located beyond the natural gas grid using lower carbon LPG and renewable BioLPG.

Intended results To highlight the importance of technology choice and affordability for rural energy consumers, in the context of the EU 'Fit for 55' legislative package. Also to highlight the role that SHV plays in supplying cleaner and lower carbon decentralised energy solutions to commercial and domestic customers in rural areas that are not connected to the natural gas distribution network. Finally, to seek Renew Europe support on ETD amendment proposals.

Email (1)

Follow up e mail to previous meeting request to introduce SHV Energy and our role in supplying rural off-grid consumers with lower carbon and renewable gas solutions. Also to discuss the impact of EU 'Fit for 55' ETD proposals on consumer affordability and choice.

Submission (1)

In attachment to the email above, SHV included a position paper on ETD amendment proposals highlighting the importance of competitiveness for EU rural businesses and Member State flexibility to provide specific derogations to energy used for heating purposes in both residential and business applications. Also, to highlight the need for a level playing field for heating fuels under the Directive.
