Specific Details The governments plans to reward frontline healthcare workers for their efforts during the Covid19 pandemic.

Intended results NHI welcomes Minister McGrath's announcement that frontline workers should be rewarded for their heroic efforts during the pandemic. NHI wrote to the Minister outlining that all healthcare workers must be acknowledged, including all those working in private and voluntary nursing homes across the country. They displayed tremendous heroism, commitment and sacrifice in the face of the Covid19 pandemic that should not be overlooked.

NHI also raised with the Minister in relation to rewarding frontline staff that it should be noted the Governments in Scotland and Wales have implemented measures and provided the funding to recognise staff within private and voluntary care homes for their efforts during the Covid19 pandemic.
