Re: Department of Children and Youth Affairs
I am writing to you to formally request the retention of the Department of Children and Youth Affairs in the next Government, following unconfirmed reports that the Department may not survive in the new Government configuration.
We in Youth Work Ireland louth are deeply concerned about reports that the Department of Children and Youth Affairs may be carved up in the next government. As the largest youth organization in Ireland we cannot support such a proposal. It is essential that as a country with such a sad record in defending the rights of Children and Young people, that there is a dedicated Department for Children and Young affairs and a dedicated Minister advocating at the Cabinet table on their behalf.
