Specific Details Representations to Dublin City Council in relation to Local Property Tax and the annual decision on its variation.

Intended results To increase awareness of the strong public and business demand for a better urban environment in Dublin, and better funding for local infrastructure and municipal services. To encourage Local Authority representatives to make the most efficient use of existing revenue streams. To secure support for the presence of multiple sources of Local Authority funding and encourage Dublin City Councillors to adopt a more balanced approach to revenue generation. To encourage elected representative to heed the advice of Dublin City Council officials in relation to the public improvements that could be funded by adopting a more modest LPT variation this year. To discourage a full 15% reduction in LPT in the 2019 fiscal year as an excessive and one-sided relinquishment of public funds at a time of considerable population growth and pressure on resources. To raise awareness that the political case for greater fiscal autonomy for the capital city could be undermined by an excessive downward variation in 2019.
