Emails to Minister Aodhán Ó Ríordáin (and his diary secretary) during September 2015, inviting him to attend this event and providing additional information about the event. The information sent to the Minister included background information about the National Traveller MABS financial awareness campaign, including their policy "asks": 1. To tackle financial exclusion, National Traveller MABS called on government to commit to the establishment of a nationwide personal micro-lending scheme, whereby marginalised groups could access credit easily, at affordable rates, and with flexible repayment options, including an option for repayment deductions at source from the borrower’s social welfare payments. 2. The organisation also called for greater consistency in relation to the provision of caravan loans by local authorities. In the event, the Minister was unable to attend the event due to a scheduling clash.
