Intended results Support for PwC roadmap for Ireland to meet its 2050 GHG emissions’ reduction targets at least cost Ireland's policy makers to establish a system of continually reducing carbon budgets. Ireland's policy makers to focus on achieving one common goal of emissions reductions across sectors and recognise that this can only be realised via a suite of complementary and not competing policy objectives. Ireland's policy makers to seek to identify the range of measures that deliver the most cost-effective abatement return for consumers. Ireland's policy makers to ensure the alignment and integration of energy policy, infrastructure planning, capital investment frameworks and energy regulation.

Minister Sean Kyne launched the EAI commissioned PwC report 'Transitioning to a low carbon energy system'.

Following the aforementioned report launch the selected DPOs were sent copies of the report electronically and invited to meet with EAI to discuss.

Individual meetings were held subsequently with Sean Kelly MEP, Brian Stanley TD and Eamon Ryan TD to discuss the content of the report.
