Senator Lorraine Higgins wrote to Ability West on 9th September 2015 regarding transport arrangements for a service user. The family had previously been on a transport route provided by Ability West which brought the service user into our services. The family moved to another location and the transport route could not be extended to offer transport. However, Ability West been in discussions with this family for some time about this issue and on 7th September a pilot route was commenced for transport for this service user, this involves an additional mileage cost. The pilot worked well and continues to date.
