IPRT Acting Executive Director wrote to Minister for Justice Simon Harris on 29 March 2023 re placement of trans prisoners in Irish prison estate and forthcoming IPS policy on this matter. Letter urged Minister to ensure that formal consultation process was run in advance of the final policy being published and briefly outlined key IPRT concerns re staff training on LGBT+ matters etc. Letter cc'd to Secretary General of Department of Justice and Director General of IPS for their information.
