Intended results Calling for specific amendments to regulation of e-scooter use to enhance the safety of people with vision and mobility impairments. Restrict e-scooter use on footpaths; dual pedestrian and cycle ways; shared space areas. Reduce maximum speed limits to 12 kph and 6 kph. Enforce minimum age limit of 16 years of age on the use and purchase of e-scooters. Provide for suitable insurance and provisional licence rules on e-scooter use. Require a consistent sound emitting audio device on all e-scooters to be heard over heavy traffic.
