Specific Details Meeting and e mail follow up with MEP Clune's office on the role of lower carbon and renewable gas solutions in meeting the EU's Fit for 55 objectives and the impact of the ETS, ETD, RED and EPBD policy proposals on rural energy consumers, located beyond the natural gas grid.

Intended results To highlight the importance of technology choice and affordability for rural energy consumers, in the context of the EU 'Fit for 55' legislative package. Also to highlight the role that SHV plays in supplying cleaner and lower carbon decentralised energy solutions to commercial and domestic customers in rural areas that are not connected to the natural gas distribution network. Finally, to seek EPP support for off-grid rural gas consumer needs on the ETD, ETS and RED policy reviews.

E mails to arrange a meeting with MEP Clune and, for reference, sectoral position papers on EU 'Fit for 55' files, highlighting the impact on rural energy consumers and the role of lower carbon and renewable gas solutions in meeting the EU's climate objectives.

Meeting (1)

Meeting with MEP Clune to introduce SHV Energy and our rural energy consumer base in addition to our sectoral advocacy on behalf of our consumer base on the EU 'Fit for 55' legislative package.

Submission (2-5)

SHV Energy shared several sectoral position papers on EU 'Fit for 55' files. As a member of Liquid Gas Europe and several EU based trade associations, SHV advocates for the needs of rural energy consumers in the formulation of EU energy policy and in particular the importance of a Just Energy Transition. In addition, we call for recognition of current and future lower carbon and renewable gaseous fuels in the context of RED 3 and finally, we outline concerns about changes to emissions trading and energy taxation and the impact on rural energy consumers.
