Targeted Agriculture Modernisation Scheme (TAMS) - Age Restrictions.
Intended results
To get the Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine to extend the age restriction for women farmers and permit all women farmers up to 65.
The increased rate of grant aid of 60% for women under TAMS is a very positive development to increase gender diversity in the sector. However, the age restriction that limits eligibility to women farmers between the age of 41-55, means that a large cohort of women farmers will be excluded. The average age of women farmers is 62 years old, while 31% of women farmers over the age 80 years of age.
To reconsider the Level 6 qualification requirement the TAMS 60% grant for women farmers.
