Email sent to approximately 13 TDs on 5th October 2021, outlining IPRT: views on the Youth Justice Strategy 2021-2027 (aspects welcomed and not welcomed); concerns re increasing sentences as a measure to combat anti-social behaviour and crime; and support for a public-health led approach to addressing violent crime, as well as early interventions and prevention. This was sent in advance of scheduled statements in the Dáil on 6th October 2021, on the topic of the “National Youth Justice Strategy 2021-2027 and supporting community safety”.
