An online meeting to update on progress at Wicklow Hospice and raise awareness of the most ambitious multi-phase project in the history of the organisation ie: the 2018 redevelopment of our specialist palliative care unit in Harold’s Cross; the establishment of Wicklow Hospice in 2020; the ongoing refurbishment of Blackrock Hospice; & planning for the refurbishment of our Anna Gaynor Residential Unit in Harold’s Cross. Attendees were also briefed on our new community-focused ‘outpatients’ model of care.

Following a call received from the office of the Minister for Health relating to the announcement of a funding allocation for the palliative care sector, an email was sent on a separate matter on behalf of the Voluntary Hospice Group (VHG), seeking a meeting to request the Department of Health consider the re-designation of Section 39 hospices to Section 38 status.
