Specific Details The implementation of the Common Fisheries Policy and the conservation of marine biodiversity

Intended results Ensure that Ireland fully implements the Common Fisheries Policy, in particular the need to end over-fishing in line with Art 2(2), implement the landing obligation and sustainable Multi- Annual Plans for regional fisheries management. The outcomes of the implementation of the Common Fisheries Policy deliver positive environmental benefits as well as positive socio-economic outcomes for fishing communities. Ensure that Ireland fully implements the Common Fisheries Policy, protecting and boosting the capacity of the marine environment to deliver ecosystem services such as commercial fisheries and climate action. Ensure that Ireland fully implements the Common Fisheries Policy, including Article 17 which commits Member States to take environmental and socio-economic factors into consieration when allocating fishing quotas. Ensure that Ireland manages our fisheries in line with the spirit of Art 17 of the Common Fisheires Policy, ensuruing that fishing opportunities are made available to fihsers based on sound socio-economic and environmnetal criteria. Ensure that ireland meets its international obligations to conserve marine bidoiversity, including effots to designate and manage a network of Marine Protected Areas.
