Specific Details Submission on the taskforce on introduction of personal budgets

Intended results To suggest recommendations to the Government on the establishment of a taskforce to explore the introduction of personal budgets for persons with disabilities. Inclusion Ireland believes that the taskforce must deliver the necessary changes outlined in the Programme for Partnership Government and ensure that people with disabilities have more choice, control and independence over the services that they receive.

We provided the Ministers with a submission that was based on a consultation with and feedback from those who attended the personal budgets seminar in Dublin on May 30th, 2016. It draws on the evidence presented and from the views expressed by those present on the day, many of whom were speaking from personal, lived experience. A number of organisations and individuals opted to be signatories to this document and some of these also provided comment on its content.
