The draft masterplan for the Howth Estate's c. 190 hectares was presented by Tetrarch Capital representatives Tom Sheridan and Michael McElligott to Cian O’Callaghan TD, Richard Bruton TD, Denise Mitchell TD, Councillors Aoibhinn Tormey and Anthony Lavin at Howth Caste on 13 July 2020. The draft masterplan proposes a new hotel, spa and leisure centre, a reconfigured golf course and new club house, a large sports campus, a new school, parkland and woodland walks / trails, a greenway connecting Howth and Sutton, the refurbishment of Howth Castle and its outbuildings, a potential new gala dinner venue adjacent to the Castle, the restoration of the Estate’s walled gardens, the introduction of a new arboretum and urban farm, a new cemetery, the provision of a large public park overlooking Howth Harbour and residential development on c. 15 hectares, subject to rezoning, with 50% of such land to be developed for affordable housing and innovative housing for retirees / the grey market.
