Specific Details The Association of Occupational Therapists of Ireland, as part of the Health and Social Care Professional Alliance (HSCPA), was a co-signatory of two letters to the Minister of Health and the Secretary General of the Department of Health on the 27/2/2020 and the 11/3/2020 respectively, regarding the advertisement of the role of Chief Nursing Officer (CNO). The inclusion of the Health and Social Care Advisor post under the CNO post is not acceptable to the HSCPA .

Intended results AOTI, as part of the HSCPA, requested the immediate suspension of the recruitment campaign for a Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) that included the responsibility within the role of the CNO for a Health and Social Care Advisor Post pending a review.

The Association of Occupational Therapists of Ireland, as part of the Health and Social Care Professional Alliance (HSCPA), wrote to the Minister of Health on 27/02/2020 requesting the immediate suspension of the recruitment campaign of the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) post, pending review. The CNO post was advertised to include responsibility within the role of the CNO for the Health and Social Care Advisor post, located under the governance of the Chief Nursing Office, which is unacceptable to the HSCPA.
