HSI reps emailed their respective local government officials to arrange meetings to discuss additional funding for HSI in the 2020 budget. Other emails included thanking DPOs for meeting with HSI reps.
Phone call (31-50)
HSI reps called their local DPOs on behalf of the HSI Economic Industry Forum to discuss increasing additional funding for HSI. Some HSI reps made phone calls to their local DPOs as follow up communications after having met the said DPO in person to ask if they have made any progress in seeking additional funding. Some HSI reps have also been texting their local DPO. These texts include asking for meetings in person and discussing additional funding for HSI.
Meeting (21-30)
HSI reps met with their local DPOs ahead of the release of the 2020 Budget. The HSI reps would have discussed with their DPOs how the sport horse industry contributes to the economy of their constituency and how this sector is underfunded and needs additional funding from the government to reach the sport horse industry's true potential.
Letter (11-20)
HSI reps wrote to their local DPOs to ask for addtional funding for HSI. These letters included a copy of our Budget Submission Booklet that included the following information- • The sport horse economic contribution to the Irish economy • Employment figures of the sport horse sector • The Sport Horse success rate in international competitions • Horse Sport Ireland plans to use this additional funding to finance the following- o Sport Horse Production Pathway o Sport Horse Identification Database o National Equine Education Pathway o Invest in a global market campaign for equine tourism o Expanding their High Performance Program
