HSI reps emailed digital copies of the Budget Submission booklets to their local government officials on the HSI Economic Forum’s behalf. The booklets contained the following information:
• The sport horse economic contribution to the Irish economy
• Employment figures of the sport horse sector
• The Sport Horse success rate in international competitions
• Horse Sport Ireland plans to use this additional funding to finance the following-
- Sport Horse Production Pathway
- Sport Horse Identification Database
- National Equine Education Pathway
- Invest in a global market campaign for equine tourism
- Expanding their High Performance Programme
These emails would have also contained a cover letter written by the HSI representative outlining the importance of the sport horse industry to the local constituency's economy.

HSI reps often discussed HSI's quest for additional funding at agricultural/horse shows. These meetings were not planned and only occurred because DPOs had decided to attend these shows of their own fruition and not because of a HSI rep invitation.

Many HSI reps called their local DPOs on behalf of the HSI Economic Industry Forum to discuss increasing/additional funding for HSI.
Some stakeholders made phone calls to their local DPO as a follow up communication after having met the said DPO in person to ask if they had made any progress in seeking additional funding.
Some of HSI's reps have also been texting their local DPO.
These texts included asking for a meeting in person, discussing HSI's request for additional funding, and discussing local newspaper articles about HSI's quest for additional funding.

HSI reps met in person with their local DPOs on behalf of the HSI Economic Forum to discuss and personally hand them a copy of the Budget Submission booklet.
HSI reps discussed with their DPOs how the sport horse industry contributes to the economy of their constituency and how the sector is underfunded and needs additional funding from the government to reach the sport horse industry's true potential.
Many reps met with their local DPOs on multiple occasions to follow up on the DPO's progress on securing additional funding for HSI.
The majority of these meetings took place in the DPO's constituency office.
