Email (2-5)
We emailed the targeted DPOs to include the main recommendations of the “Let’s Commission for Communities” report in their general election manifestos, and any relevant policy announcements or papers they were to produce during the election campaign. We highlighted the following five simple commitments drawn from the report that we said we believed would fit well in their manifestos:
1 Valuing community and voluntary activity as a central part of Irish life, 2 Appoint a minister for community and voluntary activity 3, Publish a strategy to support and sustain the community and voluntary sector 4, Produce a funding plan to enable the sector to thrive, 5 Ensure that regulation, and reporting in general, is proportionate, supportive and adequately resourced
