Intended results A clear understanding of the scope and timeline of the 2016 review A platform for Ibec's Innovation, Science and Technology Policy Committee to contribute to the consultation. The review to assess the incentives available internationally to ensure that Ireland's offering remains competitive. The review to examines SME engagement levels and identify barriers to uptake. The review to measure how the current system encourages collaboration between institutions, research centres, large and small companies and industry sectors. The review to measure how the support system encourages knowledge transfer and the mobility of researchers into industry.

Meeting to determine the scope and timeline of the planned 2016 review and identify how Ibec's Innovation, Science and Technology Policy Committee could participate in the consultation. Topics of conversation included the R&D Tax Credit and how to boost SME engagement. industry awareness and accessibility of programmes, absorptive capacity, management training, and the international competitiveness of Ireland's RDI support system.
