2 letters sent the Minister for Finance and Public Expenditure and Reform proposing an amendment/ deletion to section 36 of the Finance Bill 2018 (initial letter sent 2/11/2018, follow-up letter with additional details sent 16/11/2018). Revenue had introduced a measure in respect to Vehicle Registration in the Finance Bill which a client (Erac Ireland Limited - trading as Enterprise Rent-A-Car) asked Jarlath O'Keefe (Grant Thornton Partner - Tax) to write to the Minister to outline why he believed it should be deleted from the Bill. This was due to the negative financial impact of this change on car hire companies (such as Erac Ireland Limited - trading as Enterprise Rent-A-Car) and on the wider tourism sector. No additional lobbying activity was undertaken and no change was made to the Bill.
