Meeting (1)
The INOU gave a presentation at and participated in the Department of Social Protection's consultative seminar on the development and implementation of Pathways to Work 2016-2020. The INOU called for the next Pathways to Work strategy to be inclusive of every one of working age and spell out how it will incorporate Positive Duty into its implementation. Under the Irish Human Rights and Equality Commission Act 2014, Section 42 (1) “A public body shall, in the performance of its functions, have regard to the need to-
(a) Eliminate discrimination,
(b) Promote equality of opportunity and treatment of its staff and the persons to whom it provides services, and
(c) Protect the human rights of its members, staff and the persons to whom it provides services.”
