Specific Details Engagement with the government to seek information on the Cervical Check Mediation Process and to propose that the MII be represented on the Expert Group being set up by the Minister of Health to consider alternatives to the court process in negligence claims

Intended results We sought to establish 1) that mediators with appropriate qualifications were being engaged for the Cervical Check Mediation Process and 2) what arrangements were in place for the appointment of mediators being engaged in the Cervical Check Mediation process. We sought to secure the appointment of an MII representative to the Expert Group that was to consider an alternative mechanism to the court process for resolving clinical negligence claims

A second letter was emailed to the Minister for Health on July 2nd 2018 and copied to the Minister for Justice. The first letter was also posted in hard copy form to the Taoiseach on May 16th 2018 and copied to the Minister for Health. The second letter was also posted in hard copy form to the Minister for Health on July 2nd 2018 and copied to the Minister for Justice
