Specific Details Meeting in Dunmanway, Co. Cork on Thursday, June 21st, between Jim Daly, T.D. and general medical practitioners (GPs) from the West Cork area. The GP faculty wished to inform Minister Daly of its concerns about the crisis facing general medical practice in West Cork with regards to manpower and resources. Mention was made of the Financial Emergency Measures in the Public Interest Act 2009 and the The Health (Provision of General Practitioner Services) Act 2012 in the context of these concerns.

Intended results The purpose of this meeting was to inform Jim Daly, as a Minister of State at the Dept. of Health and as a local T.D., of the challenges and crisis facing general medical practice in West Cork with regards to manpower and resources. Specific changes to legislation on the basis of this meeting was neither sought nor expected.
