Specific Details Recast of the EU Directive on the promotion of renewable energy sources (RES), as part of the 'Clean Energy for all Europeans' package. And the proposed increase in the Biofuels Obligation Scheme in Ireland.

Intended results Generate awareness among legislators engaged in EU policy of the need to curb: the use of palm oil in biodiesel, multiple counting of renewable energy (i.e. allowing countries declare half or less climate progress in real terms), valuable resources such as molasses or tall oil in the "advanced biofuels" sector, use of faux used cooking oil and use of bioenergy sourced from countries that have not signed Paris Agreement. Bring about the introduction of safe effective E10 conventional ethanol blend petrol on Irish's roads, as E10 cuts greenhouse gas emissions, comes with no adverse side effects, helps reduce tailpipe emissions, doesn't increase energy costs and generates demand for tillage farming as well as jobs in rural economies.

I attended a large event in March hosted by Seán Kelly MEP in the European Parliament to launch a new project which aims to increase the use of renewable energy technology, called EU-SysFlex.
