Specific Details
Brexit - Maintaining UK Market Access and Value
Intended results
That the EU's strategic objective must be to maximisation of the future value of the EU farming and food sector
That the 'optimum outcome' for Irish Farming and the agri-food sector is that the UK would remain within the Single Market and the Customs Union
If this outcome is not possible, the EU must negotiate a Comprehensive Free Trade Agreement between the EU and UK, with:
Tariff-free trade for agriculture products and food;
Maintenance of equivalent standards on food safety, animal health, welfare and the environment; and
Application by the UK of the Common External Tariff for imports so that the UK does not revert to a 'cheap food' policy.
