Specific Details Requesting Department of Communications, Climate Action & Environment to address as we believe to be inaccuracies, misleading information and mis representations contained in the Renewable Electricity Support Scheme issued for public consultations. As we have reason to believe, is demonstration of further prejudice and discrimination of biogas/biomethane being excluded from technologies listed in the RESS public consultation paper, similar efforts of exclusion in the RHI consultation paper.

Intended results Correct the inaccuracies, misleading information and misrepresentations included in the RESS Public Consultation paper, ensure that biogas/biomethane gets fair and equal treatment as a very viable alternative renewable energy technology with significant benefits available to the wider economy and environmental issues yet to be addressed by Government. The renewable natural gas industry can develop into a significant indigenous industry with added benefits of a circular economy and sustainability

RGFI is endeavoring to inform and ensure that the DCCAE provides accurate, reliable and informed expertise to a critically important industry in Ireland, when issuing topics relating to renewable natural gas for potential inclusion in future policy decisions through public consultation.
