Specific Details AONTAS a supported a member in a letter writing campaign. The campaign was to thank Minister Coveney for attendance at the Community Education Network Ten Year Anniversary (CEN 10).

Intended results Continue momentum out of the CEN 10 conference and seek support from Minister Coveney into the future as the CEN continues to promote community education as a platform for adult education that is able to reach the most disadvantaged in society, and therefore confront extremism.

What is the directive you gave to the grassroots campaigners? A draft email was created by AONTAS and sent to an AONTAS member in order to send on to Minister Coveney. Sending of this email was ultimately at the discretion of the AONTAS member but our support was meant to ensure the weight and importance of the message was heard by the Minister.

Further to the comment concerning the directive of the grassroots campaign, AONTAS created this draft email to Minister Coveney on behalf of an organisational member. The member wanted to contact the Minister as a thank you for attending the CEN 10 Conference on November 29, 2017 and hearing about the work they do in their community to help people suffering or at risk of suffering from issues impacting their mental health. AONTAS drafted the email initially on their behalf to help ensure that it carried the message in a way that would be heard by the Minister and Ministerial staff. The email was ultimately sent by the member group themselves.
