The following activities occurred for this specific Subject Matter Area.

Letter (1)

Please see attached a letter from the member organisations of the Environmental Pillar outlining our very serious concerns regarding the increasing GHG emissions from aviation. In this regard proposals to extend exemptions under the ETS are quite simply wrong. As it is, the EU ETS remains one of the few tools in place to mitigate aviation’s large and growing climate impact. It is therefore important that the reforms improve its effectiveness and ensure aviation makes a fair contribution to Europe’s climate objectives rather than making them unachievable. In our letter we offer a number of proposals which we hope you will support. Thanking you for your attention to this important matter.
