The following activities occurred for this specific Subject Matter Area.

Meeting (1)

1. Will the Minister set an annual allowable cut mechanism for forestry annual accounting? 2. Will the Minister initiate a stakeholder forum between the Forestry Service, Coillte, the National Parks and Wildlife Service, ELIG and the Environmental Pillar to work on the over Forestry of the Hen Harrier SPA Network? 3. BirdWatch Ireland has initiated a project which will hopefully result in the development of a bird afforestation sensitivity mapping tool. The Forest Service has provided initial funding and expert input to the scoping document. Will the Minister commit to supporting the further development of the Forest Sensitivity Mapping Tool? 4. Will the Minister initiate a ban on the use of peat in the horticultural industry and active promotion of the use of peat-free horticultural growing medium in the retail market on the basis that these are sustainable products? 5.
