Specific Details We carried out social media posts advocating for socio- economic status to be recognised as a ground of discrimination in equality legislation. We met with MEP Aodhán Ó Ríordáin to discuss the EU anti poverty strategy, the Irish Presidency of the Council of the EU and to advocate for a range of policy related issues including the recognition of socio- economic status within Irish Equality Legislation.

Intended results Intended result: to see socio- economic status recognised as a ground in Irish equality legislation, namely the equal status act and the employment equality act.

We posted images of people supporting the campaign to have socio- economic discrimination recognised in the equality legislation.

Meeting (1)

We met with MEP Aodhán Ó Ríordáin to discuss the EU anti poverty strategy, the Irish Presidency of the Council of the EU and to advocate for a range of policy related issues including the recognition of socio- economic status within Irish Equality Legislation.

Submission (1)

We created a publication entitled 'ATD Ireland and the The Irish Presidency of the Council of the EU' which advocated for a range of anti- poverty measures. This included the prioritisation of the EU anti poverty strategy during the Irish Presidency, including the recognition of socio- economic status within Irish Equality legislation.
