Intended results Understand if the region had specific priorities in terms of laboratory services. This was required to plan a discussion with senior healthcare leaders as part of the All Ireland Integrated Care Conference which Roche Diagnostics were one of many sponsors. A number of Roche customers exist within each region, those customers may also not yet be aware of the regional priorities.

The following activities occurred for this specific Subject Matter Area.

Phone call (1)

Phone call took place with Tony Canavan on 7th May at 1:30pm. The call lasted approx 30 mins, we discussed optimisation of laboratory services and I shared some examples of good practice as demonstrated by Letterkenny hospital in terms of community care to support integration of services. The conversation was relatively high level, no confidential information was shared.

Virtual Meeting (1)

Virtual meeting took place on 15th May at 11:30am for 30mins. Dr Phillips provided useful insights into long term desires for wearable devices similiar to continuous glucose monitor to support 'hospital at home' initiatives. Priorities in the region not yet defined but will be led by the national Laboratory Strategy. No confidentail information was shared.
