Ambrose McLoughlin (former DPO) and Mary Ryder are unpaid advisors of the Eu Heart Failure Policy Network who communicate with MEP's at the Eu Parliament to outline the importance of establishing an Eu wide heart failure policy and Eu network, to promote early detection and prevention to improve health outcome and better quality of life, and reduce health spending across the EU. They are unpaid Board Trustees of the HeartBeat Trust, a registered charity.

Prof Ken McDonald, Medical Director of the HeartBeat Trust addressed the EU Parliament as part of the EU Heart Failure Policy Network. Proposed a strategy policy focusing on prevention and protection for heart failure patients with special emphasis on clinical standards for predicting heart failure.
