Specific Details Lough Ree Power Station - Molten Salt Energy Storage

Intended results I was reading about your stance on the Lough Ree Power station lately and I fully agree with your position. It would a huge waste of built resources to demolish this for a battery arm. The embodied carbon that has gone into building this would be wasted. I believe a win-win solution to this would be to use a molten salt energy storage system that would take excess renewable energy off peak. This would heat salt to 650 degrees C which could then use steam

This would heat salt to 650 degrees C which could then use steam in conjunction with the existing generation assets to generate electricity at peak times. https://interestingengineering.com/energy/denmark-salt-battery-could-power-100000-homes What I don’t know however is what equipment changes and alterations are required to go from peat burning to steam generation from heat. Molten salt batteries are cheaper than li ion batteries, take up less space as they are in large silo tanks.
