Specific Details Given the Government’s commitment in the Programme for Government 2025, Securing Ireland’s Future, to take steps to advance financial literacy and financial services inclusion for Irish Traveller and Roma communities National Traveller MABS sought a meeting with the minister for Finance to see how we might work together to achieve these goals.

Intended results A meeting with the minister for Finance to see how we might work together to achieve financial literacy and inclusion improvements for Travellers.

An email was sent to the Minister for Finance's office on the 6/03/25. We received a reply on the 20/03/25 stating that Minister for State Robert Troy would meet with us on 01/04/25.

Meeting (1)

Nancy Power CoOrdinator NTMABS & Aoife Foley National Social Policy Worker NTMABS, met with Minister Troy in his office on 01/04/25 in the Dept of Finance with 3 official's from the Department of Finance. We spoke about the financial literacy strategy action plan and the general barriers to financial inclusion for Travellers. The Minister offered to launch NTMABS pension research.
