Follow up emails to some MEPs previously invited and new contact with Barry Andrews re participating in these workshops, which aim to build participants’ understanding of the European Parliament and its role in addressing social issues. Part of each event involved engagement between community members and MEP on how issues facing their community might be addressed by the MEP in their role, with the possibility of longer-term engagement between the communities and the MEP throughout their term.

We held three workshops, one in each European Parliament constituency, involving communities and an MEP from their constituency to provide communities with the opportunity to discuss and learn more about the role of the European Parliament in tackling social issues, and to discuss these issues with their MEPs.
